What is Votyv?
Votyv is a free online prayer community. You light a candle for whatever you are praying about, it appears on a live world prayer map, and other Christians stop to pray for you. You can also ask Conduit, a Scripture-based prayer companion, listen to the whole Bible read aloud, confess anonymously, and find your church’s page.
Is Votyv free?
Yes. Candles, the prayer map, praying for others, Conduit (five questions a week), confessions, discussions, Votyv Radio and church pages are free, with no ads. Votyv Membership ($5.99/month, with a free 7-day trial) adds church prayer readings, unlimited Conduit, the full Bible audio player and candles that burn for 30 days instead of 7 days.
What is a prayer candle?
A prayer candle is a prayer request with a light attached. You write what you are carrying, place it on the map at your location or anywhere the prayer belongs, and it stays lit for 7 days (30 days for members). People who open it can tap Pray, and you are told each time someone does. When the prayer is answered you can blow the candle out, and you can relight it whenever it is still on your heart.
How does church prayer reading work?
When you light a candle, members can ask for it to be read in church. One of our intercessors carries the prayer into a church, reads it aloud, and lights a real votive candle for it. You receive an email the day it happens with the name of the church, and your candle shows “Read in church.” Members receive two readings each month.
Can I pray anonymously?
Yes. Any candle or confession can be posted anonymously. Your name, photo and profile are hidden from everyone, and people can still pray for you and leave encouragement. You can also turn comments off when you only need to be heard.
Is Votyv for one denomination?
No. Votyv is for Christians of every tradition. The Bible player uses the King James Version, Conduit answers from Scripture rather than any one church’s teaching, and church pages exist for every congregation that has a member on Votyv.
What is Conduit?
Conduit is Votyv’s prayer companion. You bring a question, a doubt or a decision, and it answers thoughtfully with Scripture. It is not a pastor and does not replace one; it is a place to start when it is 2am and you need to think something through. Free accounts get five questions a week; members have no limit.
Can I share a prayer or a verse with someone who is not on Votyv?
Yes. Every candle, verse, Votyv Radio track and Conduit answer has a share link that opens a public page anyone can read, with no account needed. They can pray along, and join if they want to.
